How I work

If you’ve never been to see a therapist, then this is roughly how it works:
  • Send me an email, or give me a call, and we talk a little about what’s bothering you, and whether I can help.
  • If after talking you feel comfortable, then we can make an appointment.
  • You come along, we meet, and then you sit down and tell me your story. And you can tell me as much or as little as you like.

Over time, which can be just one or two sessions, or many depending on your situation, we both attempt to understand what is happening. From this creating of a better awareness, new ideas or new ways of seeing yourself and the world can come about, and so from this process new ways of thinking and acting can be created.

I’m a Humanistic Integrative therapist, but I will when required use other methods such as E.M.D.R. trauma therapy as well as Art Therapy techniques. I find every time I work though, human resilience and ingenuity always amazes me. I find whatever has happened to a person, when they are given a little time and space, they know what the truth is. And really that is what therapy is about, working together to help you see you and your life, so that change can happen.
